Afternoon update, September 20, 2006

Today has been a good day! God has encouraged us throughout the day without us accomplishing anything on our list of things to do. Beginning last night, God began speaking to wait upon Him. To be still, and know that He is God. To seek His face and not His hand. We have spent the day doing those things by praying and spending time in His Word. We know that He is speaking and showing us that He will provide in His time and in His way. Pamela and I were able to have lunch by ourselves at a local Italian restaurant and had an excellent pizza and even some Diet Coke. We are feeling much better though we still have many logistics to get done. However, we know that it is not us who must do these things, but our Heavenly Father will provide for us. Pamela's suitcase is still missing in action. We still don't have a car, nor a house. God knows that we need these things, and that they are not just wants. Therefore, we wait expectantly upon Him. Thank you for your prayers. We are confident that God is speaking and directing us. We are at peace and feeling very refreshed today.

Oh, and I should give thanks that our money wire transfer was received by the local bank!

Praise the Lord for all things great and small!

It was wonderful to hear from you and know all is going well. You have been in our thoughts and prayers since your departure. We are also waiting expectantly for Him to move--knowing that we can do nothing on our own. Although it is an anxious place to be sometimes, it is always comforting to know that HE is truly in control all the time! Love you all!

It is good to hear how God is working through your circumstances to draw you closer to Himself and trust Him. Thanks for blogging too! It is good to be able to read what is happening with you and the family so easily. God bless you!

I would like to pray for you but I have been so down since the Tennessee - Floriday game that I just dont feel like it. OK that was a joke! Kevin, sorry youre not here to share complaints on the officiating. You know - misery loves company and all that. Pamela, if any of your boys had lost their luggage I am sure they would not have been overly concerned. Same underwear for a week - no problem! I am sorry you are going through this and I know it is not amusing to you right now but this will be a great story and memory someday. I know it's Friday but hang on Sunday's coming! I am thrilled to hear of the boy's meeting friends and enjoying school. We love you all and think of you and pray for you often.

Hi Kevin and Pamela!
I'm noting your specific prayer needs, so know that I'm praying. Your comment about waiting for God to provide instead of trying to search things out on our own spoke clearly to me. Isn't it cool that God can use you to affect lives of others in far away places? We serve an awesome God!

It's so good to hear from you guys! I'm glad to read that you are at least safe and sound, even if things are not entirely logisitically worked out yet! We have your prayer card on our fridge, and pray for you every time we see it (...which is often, considering we use the fridge a lot!!). We look forward to reading many more updates about your blessings in Uganda. Take care!!

It was indeed a heartfelt need to hear from my daughter and her family. I know that our LORD has you all in his hands, and that is the very best place you could ever be. Let all the boys know that POP and Cathie sends our love, and a big huggggg is attached to this little note. Talk to you soon. Love you Dad and Cathie.
